This page is intended to show the history of insignia worn by members of the Rehoboth Beach Police Department.  None of the patches listed below are available for trade or purchase.

First known patch used by the Rehoboth Beach Police.  It was worn until about 1956.

 

Second issue patch worn until the mid 1970's.

 

Third issue patch worn until uniform shirt colors were changed to french blue in 1989.

 

Fourth issue patch worn after 1989.

 

1892.jpg (170608 bytes) Current issue patch.  The year "1892" was added in 1997 to signify when the RBPD was established.

 

Current style Bicycle Enforcement Unit patch put into service in 1994.

 

  Subdued patch made for RBPD firearm instructors.  Patch is no longer issued or used.

 

Old style communications patch worn in the early 1990's.

 

Current issue communication patch.

 

First known patch worn by parking meter enforcement personnel in the 1960's and 70's.

 

Second issue patch worn by the parking meter department.

 

Current issue patch worn by employees of the parking meter department.
